Who is responsible

Crimsonvalleybanter Ltd is responsible for personal information handled for this publication. Our registered office is 21 Prince Street, Bristol BS1 4PH, United Kingdom; company no. 14958236. Privacy enquiries can be sent to [email protected].

Reading the website

The site does not require an account. Its supplied pages contain no advertising trackers, analytics scripts, embedded social feeds or third-party font services. Your browser necessarily sends network information when requesting pages and images, including an IP address and technical request details. Hosting infrastructure may process access and security logs to deliver the site, diagnose faults and prevent misuse.

Where technical logs contain personal information, the purpose is site delivery and security, relying on our legitimate interests in maintaining a functioning, secure publication. Such information should be retained only for the period needed for those purposes or an applicable legal obligation.

The local note generator

Text entered into the contact tool is processed in the current page in your browser. The tool has no message-submission endpoint and does not upload its fields. It does not intentionally retain drafts in cookies or browser storage. Browsers may independently restore form fields or tabs according to your settings.

The Copy control writes generated text to your clipboard only when requested and supported by your browser. The Download control creates a text file on your device. You control the clipboard, downloaded file and any subsequent sharing. Clearing the page does not delete a file you have downloaded.

Email correspondence

If you email us, we receive your email address, the contents of your message and any information you choose to include. We use it to answer enquiries, assess corrections, maintain relevant editorial records and address legal or security matters. Our usual lawful basis is legitimate interests in managing correspondence and accurate reporting; a legal obligation may apply in specific circumstances.

Please do not send unnecessary sensitive information. We keep correspondence only as long as reasonably needed for the enquiry and relevant editorial or legal records, review retained material and delete it when no longer necessary. A correction record may need to outlast the initial exchange where it explains an enduring editorial decision.

Service providers and disclosure

Hosting and email providers may process information needed to supply those services. We do not sell personal information or use contact messages for advertising profiles. We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights. If a provider processes information outside the United Kingdom, applicable data protection safeguards must be used where required.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights to access, correct or erase personal information; restrict or object to processing; and receive certain information in a portable form. These rights are not absolute, and journalistic or other legal provisions may affect how they apply. Contact us to make a request; we may need proportionate information to verify your identity.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We encourage you to raise concerns with us first, without limiting your right to contact the regulator.
